Sweden’s push to incentivize the build-out of nuclear energy for baseload is a 20th century solution to a 21st century problem. Other options can potentially provide competitive and secure energy supply. Combining offshore wind with battery storage in hybrid power plants can be a flexible and cost-competitive alternative to nuclear.
