On 13 February, the government in France published its third Multiannual Energy Programme (PPE 3), setting the energy policy roadmap for the next decade.
The document confirms a dual strategy combining nuclear expansion with continued renewable development.
Updated targets have been set for offshore wind, as well as onshore wind and solar. While the final targets are lower than they were in draft versions, the plan confirms renewables as key energy pillars with AO10 on the horizon for offshore wind and AO9 bidding set to begin soon, while annual onshore wind and solar auctions for 800 MW - 5 GW are also scheduled.
Aegir Insights published a new report to clients, accessible on the Aegir Intelligence Platform, walking through the PPE 3 framework in France, giving an overview of the country's adjusted renewables ambitions across all three technologies, offshore wind, onshore wind and solar.
