Scott has 20 years of energy industry experience, starting as a petroleum engineer in Canada in 2003 before transitioning into energy investment banking with Macquarie Capital in the UK. In 2011, he moved into the offshore wind sector, joining Orsted initially to build a commercial team focused on turbine pricing and technology valuation, and later becoming Programme Director for the landmark Race Bank and West of Duddon Sands projects off Britain.
Before co-founding Aegir, Scott served as a strategic advisor to renewable energy pioneer Henrik Stiesdal, helping establish Stiesdal A/S in areas including floating wind, long duration storage and Power-to-X. Scott holds a LLM in International Commercial Law from University of Edinburgh, an MBA in Finance from the University of Calgary, and a BSc in Mechanical Engineering from Dalhousie University.
Rikke has 12 years of experience in the offshore wind energy industry, starting with Orsted in 2011. As Orsted’s Head of Pipeline Management and later Programme Commercial Manager of Project Development, she prepared bids for offshore wind auctions in Denmark, Germany and the US. Prior to co-founding Aegir, Rikke worked as an external advisor in early-stage development, commercial management and costing for floating wind developers, suppliers and investors.
Before joining Orsted, she worked in business development and sustainability in the biotech sector in India, South Africa and Denmark. Rikke’s educational background includes an MSc in International Business Studies and a BSc in Business, Language and Culture from Copenhagen Business School, combined with studies at Indian Institute of Management Bangalore and from Queen’s School of Business in Canada.
Darius joined Aegir Insight from Recharge, the global energy transition news and intelligence website and magazine, which he helped launch in 2009. From 2013-2023, Darius also hosted the Recharge Roundtables, an acclaimed series of live and digital thought-leadership panels made up of many of the most influential executives in the wind, hydrogen, solar and wider energy transition industries, as well as the annual Recharge Summit, the Recharge Global Offshore Wind Summit and the Recharge-Upstream Energy Transition Forum.
Darius also regularly keynotes, chairs and moderates panels at many of the wind industry’s highest profile international conferences. Darius has written on energy for some 25 years, before Recharge serving on editorial staffs at leading oil & gas titles including Offshore Engineer, the Oil & Gas Journal and the Petroleum Economist.
Matthew has more than 18 years of public and private sector experience in international business and government relations in the clean energy and sustainable development sectors. Matthew has held senior positions at organizations including Vestas Wind Systems, MHI Vestas Offshore Wind, law firm Bech-Bruun, and economic development agency Copenhagen Capacity, where he headed up efforts to attract foreign investment in cleantech and sustainable urban development.
Matthew joined Aegir Insights from the post of Chief Advisor in the Danish Energy Agency’s Centre for Global Cooperation, where he advised the US and India on their offshore wind market design and development. He holds a MSc in International Business Administration & Modern Languages from Copenhagen Business School, and a BSc in Business Management and German from the University of East Anglia in the UK.
Maria is responsible for Aegir’s intelligence product portfolio. Maria has 10 years of experience in the energy sector, from Orsted, where she worked with technical valuation, and from Vestas Wind Systems, where she worked with market intelligence. Maria has extensive experience in energy system analysis, energy policy and regulation from her time at the Danish Utility Regulator and with the industry organization Green Power Denmark. Since 2019, she has developed a particular specialization in renewable hydrogen and Power-to-X.
Maria has an MSc in Business Administration & International Economic Consulting and a BSc in Business Administration from Aarhus School of Business.
Morten is responsible for the development of Aegir Insights’ offshore wind tool chain and software products. Prior to joining Aegir Insights, he worked as a Research Assistant in the Sustainability Division at the Department of Technology, Management and Economics at DTU, the Technical University of Denmark. Morten has a deep knowledge of renewable energy systems and is skilled in data analysis, modeling, and feasibility studies.
Morten holds a MSc in Engineering and Sustainable Energy and a BSc in Engineering from the DTU and has studied machine learning from Stanford University.
Victoria is responsible for Aegir’s data and analytics products. She has seven years’ experience in the wind energy industry, having held leading commercial and technical roles at Siemens Gamesa. Victoria has extensive experience in offshore wind market forecasting, cost estimation and supply chain opportunities across a range of international markets.
Victoria holds a MSc in Engineering, Operations and Innovation Management from Aalborg University, as well as a BSc in Global Business Engineering from the same institution.
Lise, who is responsible for HR and business support, has more than 15 years of experience in the wind energy industry with Orsted, where she held various positions within project coordination and management. Lise is skilled in leadership, people & culture, HR processes, and administrative framework.
Lise has Bachelor of Commerce in Communication and is certified in project management (CAPM) and personality profiles (Insights). Lise also holds a mini MBA in Management.
Jacob is founding partner of Treetop Partners, a boutique advisory specializing in renewable energy projects and novel technologies that accelerate the green energy transition. With 15+ years’ experience in this space working with leading developers, investors, OEMs and infrastructure technology providers, Jacob has extensive commercial and legal experience in project development, financing, and contracting.
Troels Vig is managing director at Better Holding, a holding company for private investments where he is responsible for a wide portfolio ranging over venture capital, private equity and real estate. He previously worked for 15 years at IBM, rising to country manager for the Danish tech division. Troels is experienced in tech strategy including SaaS delivery models, platform development, and commercial execution.
Jon Erik Reinhardsen is Chairman of the Board at Equinor and board member at Telenor and at Oceaneering International. He has more than 40 years’ experience in the international energy industry, having held roles including CEO of Petroleum Geo-Services (PGS), delivering global geophysical- and reservoir services, and executive leadership positions in the Aker Kvaerner group.
Ryan Horvat has an extensive background in energy research, data and analytics. As Managing Director of the RS Energy, he was a key member of the team that transformed the group from a specialist research-only firm into an industry-leading SaaS provider. Ryan also led the RS Energy’s product team responsible for data acquisition and strategy and helped facilitate the sale of the business to Genstar (Enverus) in 2020.
