  • In many markets developers continue to announce floating projects and the size of projects are steadily increasing. Markets with new announcements include Portugal, UK, Ireland, South Korea, Japan and the Philippines.
  • There hasn’t been much news this summer on floating tenders, but the second half of 2023 should be interesting as deadlines approach and new auctions are slated to start.
  • Steady progress is expected towards 2030 and a significant acceleration is still anticipated, with annual installations set to pass 1GW around the end of this decade, and more than 10GW p.a. after 2035.
  • Especially China is announcing bigger projects and could be the first market to reach GW-scale deployment. Europe, however, is following closely with several large projects with delivery anticipated in early 2030s.
