Europe already has major offshore wind monopile manufacturers, who excel in the industry with high-quality production and proximity to offshore projects.
However, they face rising competition from Chinese suppliers offering high-volume, state-of-the-art facilities, own fleets for overseas transportation and potentially price competition on products delivered in Europe. Chinese monopile manufacturers benefit from large volumes at home, allowing them to scale production and compete globally.
Chinese offshore wind monopile suppliers have already entered four European markets, with more than 5 GW of fixed-bottom offshore wind projects sourcing monopiles from China. The majority comes from Dajin Offshore, while CWHI has secured orders that are currently under production.

In Aegir Insights’ new analysis, available to our client on the Aegir platform, we examine the major Chinese monopile manufacturers and their potential to supply the European offshore wind market.
