Although 2025 has been another turbulent year, multiple offshore wind projects globally matured, with many reaching final investment decision (FID), starting construction and becoming operational.
- 8 projects reached FID across 4 markets (excl. China), accumulating 6.5 GW of offshore wind capacity.
- 7 projects with over 5 GW in total started construction, across 7 markets in Europe, the Americas and Asia-Pacific (excl. China).
- And, 10 projects with around 3 GW became operational across 6 markets in Europe and Asia-Pacific (excl. China).
This amounts to a currently operational offshore wind capacity of around 41 GW globally (excl. China) at the end of 2025.
