One month to go until the Polish 2025 offshore wind support auction is launched on 17 December 2025 with one single-day bidding.
Yesterday, the third qualifying bidder for the upcoming offshore wind support auction in Poland – awarding 25-year two-way CfDs – was confirmed, taking the Polish market to the required three valid bidders ahead of the 2025 auction.
The bidders lineup for the support auction in Poland consists of these three fixed-bottom projects:
- Baltyk 1 developed by Polenergia and Equinor
- Baltica 1 developed by PGE Baltica
- Baltic East developed by ORLEN Neptun
While Baltic East is neighboring sites which were awarded a CfD-agreement back in 2021. This includes the Baltic Power project (also developed by ORLEN Neptun together with Northland Power). The other two valid bidders for this year’s auction are further from shore.
The winners of the December auction will likely become operational by the end of 2032 according to the support framework.
The lead up to this auction has been affected by waiting time on permits needed to bid and many months of work on an amendment to the Offshore Wind Act. This amendment opens for condition environmental permits, split capacity into two separate projects within one leased site area. And finally it opens for an intervention auction in 2026, in case the upcoming auction in 2025 is unsuccessful.
