The more than 100 offshore wind projects in the early-stage pipeline in Brazil will have tough price competition from other renewables.
Brazil has held regular auctions awarding 15 or 20-year PPAs to various power sources including onshore renewables, with strike prices for onshore wind coming in below 30 EUR/MWh. Although some recent auctions have seen higher strike prices for hydro power, offshore wind projects in Brazil will still need to pull every lever they can to ensure they can compete with other renewables.
